For all graduate students
The Graduate Academic Counselor can assist graduate students with taking or returning from leaves of absence or with mental health care coordination.

For graduate assistants
Faculty Staff Assistance Program
The Faculty Staff Assistance Program is an assessment, referral, coaching, consultation and short-term counseling service.
Mental Health, Health and Wellness
- Mental Health Tips: A series of suggested videos to help students with self-care
- Health and Wellness: Graduate student health and wellness resources across campus
- Wellness Ambassadors: Receive training to support wellness in your academic community
Academic Support
- Dissertation Support Group: Facilitated support group for dissertations or theses
- Graduate School Center for Writing and Oral Communication: Consultations, workshops, writing groups and editing for international graduate students

Accommodations and Equity
- Graduate Student Accessibility Accommodations: Provides resources for course, assistantship, exam dissertation and theses, dining and transport accommodations for graduate students with disabilities
- Eat, Grow and Learn Series: Supports and educates students on the challenges different identity groups experience in graduate school
- Office of Graduate Diversity and Inclusion: Develops and implements diversity initiatives for graduate students

- Teaching Resources: Provides tips and guidance for graduate teaching assistants

Parenting and Family Life
- Parenting Resources: Provides guidance and information for graduate students who are pregnant, adopting or have children
- Center for Healthy Families: Provides sliding-scale couple, family and individual therapy by training graduate students supervised by clinical staff
Legal and Financial Support
- Graduate Student Legal Aid: Offers support to prevent and resolve legal problems and reduce the associated stress
- Immigration Help Legal Consultation: Offers 30-minute consultations with an immigration attorney for international, undocumented and immigrant students on day per month
- GRADulting Workshop Series: Hosts weekly hour-long workshops on a variety of topics relevant to UMD graduate students
Social Life and Community
- Graduate Student Life: Supports community building and connection among graduate students through meaningful, fun and diverse programming
- Graduate Student Circle Sessions: Provides opportunities to learn about resources and new approaches to addressing concerns, ask questions and connect with other graduate students
- Graduate Student Government: Supports and advocates for graduate students by passing legislation, meeting with the university administrators and helping shape university policy

Basic Needs Support
- Student Crisis Fund: Provides compassionate aid to students who face unanticipated emergencies
